Learning & Fun Tennis System
Welcome to Tennyson Tennis where we teach the principle of L.A.F.T.S tennis. The primary goal and objective of tennis camp, and all of our tennis programs is to teach junior and adult tennis players the proper way to play tennis, sportsmanship, camaraderie and to make corrections based on technical understanding of tennis mechanics. There is a delicate balance between a child having fun and learning. To this end the LAFTS curriculum is designed to achieve this symbiotic relationship.
The information contained herein is a mix of all relevant sources: USPTA, NET-GENERATION, USTA, PTR, QUICKSTART (foam balls and 36′ courts with age and size appropriate racquets are used for the younger groups and can be substituted in any of the curriculum drills), combined with over 30 years of teaching experience in public and private sector are encapsulated in this guide. This method is taken from years of working at Tennis Centers and Park and Recreation facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. “The concept is to devise and implement fun drills that cater to specific technical skills that apply for the content/theme of the day discussed in the technical and safety lecture. We are dedicated to growing the sport of tennis with the youth in Hayward and the surrounding areas.
